The core app is free. Pro deepens detailed weather, Satellite, Topo and 3D terrain, offline downloads, Outdoor Insights, manually added journal photos, and exports.
What Pro adds
Current conditions, core wind, daylight, sunrise, and sunset are free where supported. Pro adds extended detailed hourly and multi-day forecasts, gusts, visibility, golden hour, best weather windows, and live weather map layers like radar, precipitation, temperature, and wind.
The Outdoor and Vista maps are free. Pro unlocks Satellite and Topo styles plus 3D terrain, so you can read relief, slope, and surroundings before you pick a place to go.
Free can read and manage compatible offline packs already installed on the device. Epicrest Pro can create or update Outdoor regions up to 50 miles, with up to 15 packs installed per device, and can retain detailed weather context where available.
Outdoor Insights and Year in Epicrest turn your private journal and plans into local, deterministic stats and an annual recap. Pro also adds up to 15 manually added photos per Journal entry and PDF or GPX export of your own records.
Epicrest works without a subscription. Get Outside Today recommends places by intent, a quick walk, a hike, parks, kids, dog, water, scenic, camp, or peaks, and explains why each one fits using distance, weather, mapped routes, and signals like playgrounds and restrooms where data exists. The Outdoor and Vista maps, full available live route detail, park and public-land boundaries, AR peak identification, current weather where supported, an unlimited private journal, plans, and social-post generation are all free.
Pro is for the days you want more depth. It expands the same workflow rather than gating the basics, so you can keep using Epicrest as a calm field tool whether or not you subscribe. Treat weather, AR, and route information as planning and recognition aids, not a safety or navigation source, and bring current maps and your own judgment into the field.
With Pro, the map adds Satellite and Topo styles on top of the free Outdoor and Vista views, with 3D terrain so you can study relief before committing to a plan. Live weather map layers, radar, precipitation, temperature, wind, and clouds, sit alongside detailed hourly and multi-day forecasts, gusts, visibility, golden hour, and best weather windows where available; core wind, daylight, sunrise, and sunset remain available on Free where supported.
Offline goes further too. Epicrest Pro can pick an area on an interactive map and create or update an Outdoor offline pack with peaks, places, routes, and a weather snapshot. Pro supports regions up to 50 miles and detailed weather context where available, with background pause and resume. Outdoor Insights and Year in Epicrest are a flagship part of Pro. They read your own journal and plans to produce local, private, deterministic stats, trends, records, favorite routes, known gain, and Planning Health, plus an annual recap.
